Message from the Executive Team

Dear colleagues and partners,

2015 has put us in the fast lane, we started the year talking about strengthening regulation, launching projects and boosting healthcare education within the free zone.

Then came our biggest achievement – the launch of Phase 2, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, a wellness destination spanning over 22 million square feet.

Our success streak did not end there – by March we expanded our licensing framework, adding 34 new countries. We announced a partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities to develop the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. As we entered Q3, we signed an agreement with Mediclinic Middle East to build healthcare capacity in over 40 specialties through clinical and professional development programs.

When Q4 came around, we announced a joint venture with Nshama to develop a world-class integrated community in Phase 2, where we also marked the official opening of the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai (SISD) welcoming 280 students. In this quarter, we organized the 1st UAE Organ Transplant Summit.

We have worked hard – this and more work was validated when we received findings from our Patient Satisfaction Survey which measured patients’ experience of received care and identified the main drivers of satisfaction. We can proudly say that 9 out of 10 patients were satisfied and willing to recommend clinical facilities in Dubai Healthcare City to family and friends.

Pushing forward – more hard work and better strategizing. We have had a good year, and we certainly have the potential to exceed in the future by evolving our strategy execution through streamlined investment and education entities, to achieve operational efficiency.

The fast lane is but an analogy. It is the momentum that will keep us going for 2016 and beyond.
