Marwan Abedin CEO, Dubai Healthcare City

Message from the CEO

Every single team member - behind-the-scenes and on-site, has been integral in the success of Arab Health 2015, from which emerged one of our most uplifting moments – welcoming His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

During the largest health congress in the Middle East, His Highness unveiled the logo of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Dubai Healthcare City pavilion.

On the concluding day, we received Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain, wife of His Highness, and chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority at our pavilion.

Our participation had broadly three outcomes – inking agreements with strategic partners, announcing a new academic partner for the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and launching a public health campaign.

We were honored to be presented with a rare copy of the complete works of The Lancet (1867). The book illustrates how far medicine and medical practices have come. The book was donated by Kallman Worldwide to DHCC’s Al Maktoum Medical Library.

We also updated the market on our operating performance for the full year, ending December 31, 2014. Highlights included:
DHCC records 1.2 million patient visits
4,534 healthcare professionals licensed
94% occupancy of DHCC main buildings
9 new healthcare facilities, 17 new commercial offices

We have ushered in 2015 – firmly clamped with our commitment and enthusiasm. Wouldn’t you agree?

Best regards,

Marwan Abedin
CEO, Dubai Healthcare City
